Adapted for every trimester
Pregnancy and postnatal Reformer Pilates in Crewe
Pregnancy changes how you move week by week, and the months after birth are about rebuilding gently. Private reformer sessions let us adapt every exercise to exactly where you are – something a mixed class cannot do.
During pregnancy
With your midwife's or GP's agreement, Reformer Pilates is a supportive way to stay strong and mobile. We focus on posture as your centre of gravity shifts, gentle strength for the legs, glutes and upper back, pelvic-floor awareness, and comfortable breathing. Positions are adjusted as you progress, and we avoid anything unsuitable for your stage.
After birth
Once you have been signed off at your postnatal check (usually 6–8 weeks, longer after a caesarean), we start with breathing, pelvic-floor and deep-core reconnection, then rebuild strength progressively. If you have abdominal separation (diastasis recti) we work with it carefully rather than around it. Babies are welcome to come along – it is your private session.
Why private matters here
Every pregnancy and recovery is different. In a 1:1 session nothing is generic: the springs, the range of movement and the pace are all yours. You can ask questions freely and stop whenever you need to.
Prices
Pregnancy and postnatal sessions are booked as standard 1:1 sessions: £25 for a single session, or £115 for five. Many clients pair up with a friend at the same stage for a Duet at £20 each.
How booking works
Pick a session type and a time on the live calendar, tell us a little about yourself, then pay by card or at the studio. The whole thing takes about two minutes and your confirmation e-mail includes a calendar file.
- Only genuinely free slots are shown – no back-and-forth messages.
- Complete the short health form once; it is kept private and reviewed before your first visit.
- Reschedule or cancel yourself, free of charge, up to 2 hours before the session.
- Buy a 5- or 10-session pack later if you decide to continue – your first session never has to be a commitment.

Frequently asked questions
When can I start during pregnancy?
If you have already been doing Pilates you can usually continue from the start with your midwife's agreement. If you are new to it we recommend beginning in the second trimester, again with medical approval.
When can I return after giving birth?
After your GP's postnatal check and once you feel ready – typically from 6–8 weeks after a vaginal birth and 10–12 weeks after a caesarean. We start very gently.
Can Pilates help with diastasis recti?
Yes. Controlled deep-core and breathing work is the standard approach to rebuilding the abdominal wall. We avoid loaded crunching movements and progress carefully.
Can I bring my baby?
Of course. The session is private, so a pram or car seat in the corner is no problem.
